A new QRP event in '13? 'Scorch Your Butt Off!'

Ah, Grasshopper, the yin and yang of the QRP world are finally in balance — at least for this year.

K6BBQ (note the irony in that suffix) is hosting the first — and hopefully not the last — Scorch Your Butt Off QRP event in July. You can find a link to the rules here.

It’s the perfect climatological complement to February’s Freeze Your Buns (Butt) Off event, sponsored by the Arizona ScQRPions QRP Club.

In an post to the GQRP’s email list, Rem Donnelley, the aforementioned K6BBQ, noted that the Arizona group once hosted SYBO, but couldn’t find an event manager to keep it going. So the group let the event lapse.

Two new entries into the annual run of “get your buns out the door” QRP events last year, and another one this year? The calendar is quickly filling with must-participate operating events.
